Having missed out on the Olympic squad David Beckham will make up for it by joining forces with Thierry Henry to take on European Champions Chelsea later this month.
The former Premier League stars have been named in the MLS All Star team that will face Roberto Di Matteo’s side on July 25th in Philadelphia.
Former Manchester United and Real Madrid midfielder Beckham has been in good form since being snubbed by Stuart Pearce for a place in his Great Britain Olympic squad and scored two goals for LA Galaxy in their 5-3 win over Portland Timbers on Saturday.
Henry played for New York Red Bulls in their 2-2 draw with the Seattle Sounders.
Other former Premier League stars to make the All Star squad include Landon Donovan who has enjoyed two loan spells at Everton, Eddie Johnson who played for Fulham and former Watford defender Jay DeMerit.
Also in the squad is Ramiro Corrales who is the only active player in MLS who was there when the league started in 1996.
The San Jose Earthquakes defender was chosen by Commissioner Don Garber to the 18-man squad, joining 11 players voted to the team by fans.
