Let's get down to business: New Liverpool boss Rodgers meets players for pre-season .

Brendan Rodgers' regime at Liverpool is officially underway as the new boss met some of his players at the club's Melwood training base on Merseyside. 

Jamie Carragher, Maxi Rodriguez, Lucas Leiva, Charlie Adam and Jonjo Shelvey were among those called in by Rodgers for the first briefing of the Reds' pre-season. 

Absent were those involved in the European Championships, including England captain Steven Gerrard and Craig Bellamy who will be involved in the forthcoming Olympics for Team GB.
