Triesman's Terry tirade: Former FA chief claims black players have been let down.

Former FA chairman Lord Triesman has launched a remarkable attack on football’s governing body for ‘letting down’ black players with their handling of the John Terry racism case.
The 68-year-old criticised his ex-employers for allowing the Chelsea captain to represent England throughout the 12 months since the incident and branded the FA’s failure to act earlier as ‘unconscionable’.
Terry was found guilty of using racist language towards QPR defender Anton Ferdinand by an independent FA panel on Thursday and punished with a four-match ban and a fine of £220,000.
The 31-year-old had been cleared of a racially-aggravated public order offence in a criminal trial in July before retiring from international football ahead of the FA hearing.
But Triesman said Terry would have been barred from appearing for his country as soon as the charge was made, had he still been at the FA helm.
‘Personally, I would have preferred that, yes,’ Triesman told Radio 5 Live. ‘I take a fairly hard view and I think we should have zero tolerance.
‘However good he is, I really think as you look around the country and talk to black players, what you will find is they respect him as a player but they feel let down because they don’t feel the line has been drawn clearly enough
